Mehaffie to Host May 31 Active Shooter Safety Seminar
May 7, 2018
HERSHEY – State Rep. Tom Mehaffie (R-Dauphin) today announced he will host an Active Shooter Safety Seminar for residents of the 106th District on Thursday, May 31, from 6-8 p.m. at the Lower Swatara Volunteer Fire Department.
“Active shooter scenarios can happen anywhere,” Mehaffie said. “Learning response techniques from law enforcement and first responders will hopefully lead to a better understanding of roles and responsibilities and enhance safety should a tragedy like this occur locally.”
The free event will feature a presentation by the Derry Township Police Department on survival methods and responses that can be employed during an active shooter scenario.
Seating for the event is limited and registration is required. Residents interested in attending should register by calling Mehaffie’s office at 717-534-1323 by May 24.
The Lower Swatara Volunteer Fire Department is located at 1350 Fulling Mill Road, Middletown.
