Here’s a look at what’s being planned for the residents of the 106th District for 2024! We are still working on the final details for a couple of the events, so stay tuned for additional information.

Special District Workday in Hummelstown
I look forward to riding along with the Elder Express Van on March 13 and meeting and talking with the residents who use this transportation service about issues that are important to them.

Children’s Trout Rodeo
I will be partnering this year with Middletown Anglers & Hunters to host a trout rodeo for children up to the age of 15 at the Middletown Reservoir. This is a great way to introduce kids to the joys of fishing with prizes to be awarded in several categories. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, from 8 to 11 a.m.

Youth & Government Days
This educational event to benefit students will be held at the Capitol on Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, for registered local school districts only. I look forward to working with the students and answering their questions as they learn about the legislative process.

Health Expo
This expo will feature many vendors that address health and wellness concerns associated with the spectrum from infancy to elder care. State-related information and a variety of free health screenings will also be available. Mark your calendar now to join us at the Leader Center for Active Life, 605 Cocoa Ave. in Hershey on Thursday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is not required.

Ice Cream & Issues
I will be hosting this event on Thursday, May 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the South Hanover Township amphitheater, 161 Patriot Way, Hershey. It will be nice to share a cool treat and learn about the issues most important to those attending. Registration is requested. Please call my District Office at 717-534-1323 if you plan on attending.

Scam Jam & Fraud Bingo
Making sure people understand the latest sophisticated scams is the goal of this fun and interactive presentation. This event will be held at the East Hanover Township building, 8848 Jonestown Road, Grantville, on Friday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to noon. To register for this event, please call 717-534-1323.

National Night Out
Tuesday, Aug. 6, is National Night Out, an annual event that promotes police and community partnerships. These events encourage neighbors to meet their local police officers and first responders and have fun while doing it. There are often games, interactive exhibits, food, and entertainment. More details to come, and I hope to see you there.

Shredding Event
This event allows area residents to safely and securely dispose of documents containing personal information, so they don’t fall into the wrong hands. Paperwork containing your Social Security number, medical or banking information should be shredded. This event will be held in Lower Swatara Township with a date, time, and specific location TBD. No registration is required for this event. Documents will be shredded on-site.

Home Title Protection Seminar

Veterans Breakfast
I will be hosting my annual veterans’ appreciation breakfast on Friday, Nov. 8, from 8-10 a.m. at the Lower Swatara Fire Department, 1350 Fulling Mill Road, Middletown. This event is open to active-duty military personnel and veterans. Accommodations can be made for disabled attendees requiring assistance.
