Mehaffie: Grant Awarded for New Road in Derry Township

HARRISBURG – The Commonwealth Financing Authority today awarded $750,000 to Hershey West End LLC to develop a new municipal road known as West End Avenue, according to Rep. Tom Mehaffie (R-Dauphin).

Mehaffie supports the infrastructure project and was thankful the financing authority recognized its value.

“This new road of roughly 3,300 feet will provide an east-west route between Bullfrog Valley Road and Waltonville Road. It will help to take traffic off busy Route 322 and provide access to businesses and services in Derry Township,” Mehaffie said.

The total project cost, including additional streets within the project site, totals almost $5.8 million.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth.
