February 12, 2026

HARRISBURG – Grants awarded this week in Dauphin County will support fire companies and emergency medical services as they address building projects, purchase or repair equipment, conduct training, or reduce existing debt, according to Rep. Tom Mehaffie (R-Dauphin).

Established by the Legislature, the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. All funding comes from the proceeds generated by slot machine gaming.

Recipient departments that directly serve the 106th District include:

   • Community LifeTeam EMS, $15,000.
   • Grantville Volunteer Fire Co., $13,250.
   • Harrisburg River Rescue & Emergency Services Inc., $12,632.
   • Hershey Volunteer Fire Co., $16,136.
   • Hummelstown Chemical Fire Co., $13,457.
   • Londonderry Fire Co., $13,250.
   • Lower Swatara Volunteer Fire Department, $16,136.
   • Middletown Volunteer Fire Department, $16,136.
   • South Central Emergency Medical Services Inc., $15,000.
   • Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority, $14,693.

“Our first responders do so much with so little. We’re grateful they answer the call 24/7, so it is important to be able to recognizes them with grants likes these,” Mehaffie said.
